Welcome to the Barre Sculpt Pyramid Series, a set of workouts that will lengthen and strengthen your entire body. Each grouping has a pyramid style rep pattern to layer on the intensity. You start with 16 reps, then lower to 8, 2 sets of 4, 4 sets of 2 and 8 sets of singles. In some cases the number of sets varies. Each grouping of exercises targets a specific muscle group so you will be fully fatigued before moving on to the next grouping.

THE WORKOUTS ARE:

Glutes & Thighs (36 mins): You will see lunges, fold over lunges, glute raises, front leg raises, as well as bent leg and straight leg inner thighs sweeps.

Circles & Raises (32 mins): you will see glute raises, straight leg circles, bend presses and bent leg circles as well as a standing pretzel series along with side leg raises and circles.

Obliques & Outer Thighs (27 mins): You will see body rotations, side leg raises, standing upper and lower oblique crunches, wide plie twists, sumos and fast elbow to knees.

Upper & Lower (27 mins): Using a resistance band for the upper body you will see shoulder raises with turned out barre squats, biceps curls and over head pulls in wide plie and triceps extensions with glute raises. 

Lower (29 mins): you will see plies in turned out position, tucks, hip circles, wide plies, and a series in parallel position. 

 

About the instructor: Hi, I'm Linda - creator of Barlates Body Blitz. I have worked in the diet and fitness industry as an instructor and personal trainer for most of my career and have created close to 450 workout videos to bring my passion for exercise to you! What is Barlates Body Blitz: Barlates is a fusion style workout that borrows from pilates, barre, ballet, yoga and more traditional cardio and toning. The idea was to create a workout, which flows seamlessly from one move into the next using the principles of isotension and high repetitions to build long, lean muscles. By using a lighter weight with high repetitions the exercises are designed to target all of those underused smaller muscle groups resulting in a defined, lengthened dancer's physique. This is a real girls workout in the sense that it is fun and feminine, but don't get me wrong it is still super intense with a big burn factor! The workouts are designed to be mixed and matched with an array of 20-30 minute upper body, lower body, abdominal and total body workouts that can be strung together for a longer session or done individually if you are short on time.
