Welcome to the You've Got 10 series. If you have a super busy schedule you may miss a workout thinking that it's not worth it if you can't do at least 30 mins. The fact is, consistency trumps intensity. Fitting in even a 10 minute workout is better physically and mentally, than wishing you would have worked out and going to bed frustrated with yourself. These workouts are short and sharp. They get a lot done in a short amount of time. Even if you have a lot on - You've got 10!!!
In You've Got 10 Shoulders you will start with weight-less single then double arm circles in both directions. Then a figure 8 and alternating arm sweeps. Next a single arm elbow rotation and punch with the other arm held out isometrically. Then use the weights for a bent arm press and row behind, leading into a straight arm front and lateral raise. Finally a overhead hold with one arm while the other arm does a front and side lower to shoulder height. Finish with single arm circles and a stretch.
What is Barlates Body Blitz: Barlates is a fusion style workout that borrows from pilates, barre, ballet, yoga and more traditional cardio and toning. The idea was to create a workout, which flows seamlessly from one move into the next using the principles of isotension and high repetitions to build long, lean muscles. By using a lighter weight with high repetitions the exercises are designed to target all of those underused smaller muscle groups resulting in a defined, lengthened dancer's physique. This is a real girls workout in the sense that it is fun and feminine, but don't get me wrong it is still super intense with a big burn factor! The workouts are designed to be mixed and matched with an array of 20-30 minute upper body, lower body, abdominal and total body workouts that can be strung together for a longer session or done individually if you are short on time.
