Welcome to the Total 20 series. These short and sharp workouts are designed to give work your entire body in just 20 minutes plus a warm up and stretch. You can use them individually when you are short on time, or string a few together for a longer challenge. There is a lot of variety with different equipment and lots of fun combinations. The workouts are easy to follow, but tough to do. They require very little space and guarantee results if you do them on a regular basis.
In Total 20 Dynamic Fusion you will use just your body weight to perform cardio sculpting and lengthening exercises. Start with some knee raises and arm pulls, then oblique knees, wide plie to curtsy squat combo, a knee circle to lunge combo, into a warrior lunge low to high, a warrior 1 knee tap to calf stretch, crouching fast knee taps, then forward and back pushes, side to side leg circles to get rid of the lactic acid before repeating all the exercises on the other side. Move into a side step combo to get the heart rate up, then a seated chair pulse sequence, a tough squat series pivoting the heels and then on the toes, a forward fold shake stretch, then a side triangle with arm pulse back, oblique crunch in triangle, then move to a down dog, plank, cobra, to childs pose flow. Next a down dog to knee pull, then cobra to oblique knee pull, plank side to side steps, warrior 2 hip circles, then a right angle to backwards warrior flow, a chair sequence going from flat foot to releve then finish with a lengthening stretch.
What is Barlates Body Blitz: Barlates is a fusion style workout that borrows from pilates, barre, ballet, yoga and more traditional cardio and toning. The idea was to create a workout, which flows seamlessly from one move into the next using the principles of isotension and high repetitions to build long, lean muscles. By using a lighter weight with high repetitions the exercises are designed to target all of those underused smaller muscle groups resulting in a defined, lengthened dancer's physique. This is a real girls workout in the sense that it is fun and feminine, but don't get me wrong it is still super intense with a big burn factor! The workouts are designed to be mixed and matched with an array of 20-30 minute upper body, lower body, abdominal and total body workouts that can be strung together for a longer session or done individually if you are short on time.
