Welcome to the Double Burn Series, a set of workouts that will challenge your body from every angle. You will use a double set principle where you perform 2 different intensity levels of one exercises to fully fatigue the muscle. Each workout will use various pieces of equipment as well as your body weight to increase the challenge. You will work from the hardest to the easiest level with lots of variations to keep thing interesting. Each workout is a total body workout with warm up and stretch at the end.
In Double Burn Barre you will starts with some ballet squats and calf raises to heat up the entire body. Then move to 2 lower body segments - the first one a leg raise and plie combination, then a oblique knee to cross over squat combination, both using the ball. Then move to 2 upper body segments - a triceps push and raise combo first with the ball then the light weights and a shoulder squeeze and biceps curl combo. Then move to 2 abs segments - a c-curve tuck and curl combo and a windshield wiper with lower body extension combo. Finish with a lengthening stretch.
What is Barlates Body Blitz: Barlates is a fusion style workout that borrows from pilates, barre, ballet, yoga and more traditional cardio and toning. The idea was to create a workout, which flows seamlessly from one move into the next using the principles of isotension and high repetitions to build long, lean muscles. By using a lighter weight with high repetitions the exercises are designed to target all of those underused smaller muscle groups resulting in a defined, lengthened dancer's physique. This is a real girls workout in the sense that it is fun and feminine, but don't get me wrong it is still super intense with a big burn factor! The workouts are designed to be mixed and matched with an array of 20-30 minute upper body, lower body, abdominal and total body workouts that can be strung together for a longer session or done individually if you are short on time.
