Welcome to the Comprehensive Series. These 4, hour long workouts will target every major and minor muscle group with a lot of variety to keep your body guessing! There are heavier weights intervals, barre exercises, Pilates style mat segments and lots of innovative combinations to challenge your mind and your muscles. Get ready to feel the burn and see the changes!
The 4 Workouts are:
Burn (65 mins) you will start with large range of motion sweeps and raises, to heat up the body. Then an energetic in and out and plie series before using the resistance band on one foot for a series of raises, circles, knee ups and extensions. Next put on the loop and do 20 rounds of heavier weights exercises. Then an all 4s series with the band, a straddle upper and lower series and abs with the loop around the ankles. Finish with a nice stretch.
Tone (57 mins) you will start with dynamic exercises seated on a chair. Lots of sweeps, twists and raises. Then stay seated and add light hand weights for a combination upper and core segment. Next a slider and light weights segment. Then one slider and a barre for more focused lunge variations. Next a side plank series using the ball. Then a side lying oblique series with the ball between the ankles. Next a lower back extension segment featuring ultra-cute Mini. Finish with a lengthening stretch.
Sculpt (69 mins) you will start with large range of motion sweeps, lunges and plies to heat up the body. Then 30 rounds of total body heavier weights using a yoga block to elevate. Next a laying glute bridge segment using the loop. Then an ankle weight all 4s and side lying series. Some laying inner thighs and a no equipment bicycle abs segment. Finish with a stretch.
Chisel (68 mins) you will start with plank variations and down dog leg raises. Then a kneeling weightless arm and thigh series. Then 30 rounds of heavier weights before a standing ankle weight series. Next ankle weights quads, then pretzel raises and rolls using the ball. Then a side lying obliques segment before a no equipment abs series. Finish with a stretch.
What is Barlates Body Blitz: Barlates is a fusion style workout that borrows from pilates, barre, ballet, yoga and more traditional cardio and toning. The idea was to create a workout, which flows seamlessly from one move into the next using the principles of isotension and high repetitions to build long, lean muscles. By using a lighter weight with high repetitions the exercises are designed to target all of those underused smaller muscle groups resulting in a defined, lengthened dancer's physique. This is a real girls workout in the sense that it is fun and feminine, but don't get me wrong it is still super intense with a big burn factor! The workouts are designed to be mixed and matched with an array of 20-30 minute upper body, lower body, abdominal and total body workouts that can be strung together for a longer session or done individually if you are short on time.
