Welcome to the Mix and Match Upper Series. These workouts use various intervals to challenge your arms, shoulders, back and chest. Using equipment such as a resistance band and light hand weights you will intensify all your favourite upper body exercises to maximize your results in minimum time. There are lots of interesting combinations to keep your mind and muscles engaged.
You can mix and match the workouts for a longer challenge or use them individually depending on your preference and schedule.
In Mix and Match Arms 40/20 you will use intervals of 40 seconds of small range of motion exercises, followed by 20 seconds of micro movements for the same muscle group. There are no breaks between exercises so you have to keep your thinking cap on for fast transitions. The exercises include push-up variations, triceps dips, triceps extensions, arm circles, side lateral raises and other interesting combinations to burn out every part of your arms. You can use a slightly heavier set of dumbbells and have a lighter set ready for the more challenging exercises or, if you find it too tough at any point, drop the weights and do it without.
What is Barlates Body Blitz: Barlates is a fusion style workout that borrows from pilates, barre, ballet, yoga and more traditional cardio and toning. The idea was to create a workout, which flows seamlessly from one move into the next using the principles of isotension and high repetitions to build long, lean muscles. By using a lighter weight with high repetitions the exercises are designed to target all of those underused smaller muscle groups resulting in a defined, lengthened dancer's physique. This is a real girls workout in the sense that it is fun and feminine, but don't get me wrong it is still super intense with a big burn factor! The workouts are designed to be mixed and matched with an array of 20-30 minute upper body, lower body, abdominal and total body workouts that can be strung together for a longer session or done individually if you are short on time.
